Stage IV.
High-end “Jazz” overblow setup.
A very time consuming and extremely detailed build.
Bare reed plates are precisely flattened; premium reeds are carefully selected and installed individually with screws. A solid foundation positively affects everything built upon it.
People have asked me if they need a Stage III or IV to do what they want to do. The Stage III is a very fine overblow harmonica, and all anyone needs to play chromatically on the diatonic.
Stage IV feels more alive, more powerful, and more directly connected to your commands. For me it’s just more fun to play, which means I’ll play more.
